June 2018 part 12: Ontario, Canada to the UP

The next morning -- Fathers Day -- we headed over the Rainbow Bridge and into Canada. For three of us, it was our first time there!

Most of what we saw in Canada was just road. This delightful moose did greet us at a rest stop, however.

Canada was just the first leg of the longest driving day of our trip. After crossing into Michigan, we headed northward toward the Upper Peninsula, stopping for jerky, cheese curds, and potato chips. Finally, we made it to the Mackinac Bridge ...

... and crossed over to the Upper Peninsula.

Our hotel was right on Lake Michigan, and even the clouds couldn't dampen the lovely view.

After a long day of driving and another late dinner, we treated the kids to a trip to the pool in the morning ...

... before taking off for Minnesota!
