August Part 6 of 6 (camping)

The end of August brought with it wild turkeys.

And a family camping trip to New Hampshire!

We had a great experience at Greenfield State Park, including a hike guided by a naturalist who taught the kiddos to identify wintergreen ...

... and who pointed out this cool pitcher plant by the side of the path.

We had fire.

We had fun.

We had marshmallows.

And we had a decent night's sleep.  In the morning, Oliver helped me make coffee and breakfast.

Then we broke down our campsite ...

... and took out a canoe!

We saw diving loons and floating snails and fluffy clouds reflected in the clear blue water.

And when we were done, we went for a dip.

Back at home, we rang out August by admiring our sunflowers.

Summer was just about done and September was nigh.
