Early October

One Saturday Oliver threw a tea party for me and Petey!

And Madeline drew an inspired portrait of her beloved cat.

That evening, we attended Waterfire.

The night was lovely.

There was a ballet performance at Waterplace Park.  Oliver got into the music and moved his three-year-old hips.

Earlier in the evening, Oliver had been terrified by the living statues; later, he asked to face his fear and watch them for a while.

Then we made our way along the water, through the statues ...

... and back to the car.

On Rosh Hashana the kids didn't have school so Summer took them to the imPOSSIBLE Dream playground in Warwick.

Back to school ...

... and weekend farm visits.

Maddie made this card for her music teacher.

On Yom Kippur, Summer and the kids met up with Benji and Karen at the playground in Roger Williams Park.

Then they went home and painted.

On Thursday, we visited a Cranston playground after school/work.

And that weekend we went to Leoslav's birthday party, featuring a dinosaur that delighted Madeline but terrified Oliver.  When he first saw it, he let out the most terrified shriek I've ever heard and sprinted -- sprinted -- away faster than I would have believed possible.  Then he watched from a fortified play structure a safe distance away.
