Snow day

Madeline has had lots of trouble sleeping since we've been home from Oregon.  But when she does sleep, it's pretty cute.

Last night we were hit with lots of snow.  Just about the whole state shut down today.  So we went out to play!

Madeline was excited to finally try the sled she got last year.

Oliver was flummoxed: what is going on with all this cold, white stuff?

We walked over to the fields near our house to find a modest hill.  Summer snagged a video of Madeline's first ever sledding experience:


She loved it.  We flew down the hill again and again.

But soon enough she was ready to return to the warmth of home -- and the promise of hot cocoa.

Later on, we had a fire in the fireplace.

And as we were getting ready to sit down to dinner, the following occurred:
