Mid-July (update 1 of 6)

Now that it's late August, I think the time is ripe for an update on what we were up to in mid-July.

The kiddos played on the Gordon School playground.

We tended our garden.

The kiddos participated in our housecleaning efforts.

We picked blueberries with Benji!

Benji and Oliver pulled and pushed Madeline in a wagon.

Madeline drew a picture for Oliver: a chicken with the face of a monkey! (Familiar to anyone who's seen Frozen.)

And she drew a monkey in a tree.

Since attending art camp for several weeks this summer, Madeline has become increasingly serious about her drawing, adding more and more detail to her drawings and even going through drafts until she gets something the way she wants it.

But despite all this hard work, sometimes she's still silly.

Oliver was jealous of Madeline's daddy camp, so one day the whole family made the trip up to the Ipswich River sanctuary.  We all had birds eating out of our hands -- here's Oliver shortly after one flew off.

Again we saw turtles ...

... and frogs ...

... and trees ...

... and lovely scenery.
