Oregon Part 3

After Tillamook, we visited Oceanside.

The day was gray but not too cold.

Aunt Sarah introduced Oliver to the Pacific.

Then Oliver got to partake in his favorite pastime: throwing rocks into water.

Meanwhile Madeline bonded with a jellyfish named Luna.

And while Oliver made mischief ...

... Madeline gathered stones ...

... to build a home for Luna.

Oliver's enthusiasm for hurling rocks into the water was so great that he ended up running into the surf, resulting in his waterlogged pants falling around his knees.

The whole experience tuckered out all the young'uns.

That night, the kiddos were treated to bedtime reading by Uncle Matt.

(More to come!)

Oregon Part 2

Another day, we went to Tualatin Hills Nature Park for a stroll.

Then we visited Uncle Matt's apartment, where Oliver got to sit in a fancy massage chair ...

... while Madeline bonded with Sansa the cat.

Still another day, we headed for the coast but stopped off first at the Tillamook Air Museum.

We saw lots of interesting planes.

The kiddos especially enjoyed the cockpits they could enter.

The museum's giant hangar is plenty impressive in its own right.

Not knowing much of anything about aircraft, I don't have much of anything more to say about this stop.  Just enjoy the photos!

Oregon Part 1

Way back in August, we got on an airplane ...

... and flew to Oregon!  This time around, Oliver actually took advantage of his headphone-and-device combo.

The kids held up well over the course of our cross-country travels but were ready for bed once we arrived.

After an adjustment day, Summer and I abandoned the kiddos to the loving hands of their grandparents, aunt, and uncles and took off into the Columbia gorge.

The gorge is pretty.

We hiked up to the top of Triple Falls.

It felt good to put our feet in the pool at the top.

Here's a view of the falls from the path on the way back -- it's tough to capture how big they are and how high up we were.

But in any event, we did it!

And it was all downhill from there.

Meanwhile, back at the homestead:
