End of June (1 of 3)

The end of June was busy.  We had to get in time with Ilan and his family before they moved away.

We also made time for pancakes as always.

Madeline expanded her Duplo horizons with Cat Club, the Kingmasters, and Crazy Bird & Alligator.  She particularly enjoyed inventing and playing with the Kingmasters -- heroes who save the other groups of animals from unknown bad guys.

She also enjoyed playing with Play-Doh.

While Madeline played, Oliver got ready to walk.

(And we got frozen yogurt.)

As part of their continued playing efforts, Madeline and Oliver made good use of the drained pool.

And all was generally well.

Finally in the last week of June, Oliver took his first steps!  Since then he's been cruising around just like Carleton alumnus Philip Dunn.

Meanwhile, Madeline is getting to be quite the big kid.  She's really interested in letters and words right now and is never far from a book -- or paper and crayons.

(Oliver favors odder objects.)

The last weekend in June was also Ilan's very last weekend as a resident of the east coast.  So, naturally, we met up to pick strawberries.  The kids had a blast.

And we benefited too.

Finally, see how well Madeline has been putting her paper and crayons to use!
